About Rolex Day-Date 36mm Dials

ABOUT ROLEX DAY-DATE PRESIDENT DIALS

The Rolex Day-Date President watch is one of the most expensive watches in the Rolex collection, but is also one of most complicated in terms of function. Not only does it have the ‘date’ function commonly seen on Rolex watches, but it also has the ‘day’ function at the 12 o’clock position of the watch.

UNDERSTAND YOUR ROLEX WATCH

When the Rolex Day-Date was introduced in1956, it remained nearly unaltered until 1983 when the quick-set function was added. A double quick-set mechanism was later introduced in 1990 (movements 3055 and 3155 respectively). When the first quick-set function was added, the classic pie-pan Day-Date dials were retired and replaced with the new flat dials. These quick-set dials have remained unchanged until recent years when Rolex introduced its new 3255 movement.

The newly introduced flat dials were a lot easier to manufacture than the classic dials. Because these dials are easier to work with, they are also easier to modify.

Rolex Day-date 36mm Models

Rolex Day-Date watches come in 18k yellow gold, 18k white gold, and platinum. Although each watch varies in price, they use the same movement mechanism and dials. We offer dials for all of these models regardless of watch material.

It is possible to refinish the dial for the vintage 1803 model, but these dials are impossible to find. If you are one of the lucky owners of the Rolex 1803 model, the only watch customization option is to refinish your existing dial.

To ensure you do not waste money or time, please first make sure our product fits your Rolex Day-Date watch before submitting an order. Though Rolex dials may look the same as those on counterfeit watches, they are completely different. If you have a Rolex replica, you must contact your watch manufacturer because we do not have parts for you and cannot help fix or modify your watch.

Tudor Date-Date watches are similar to Rolex, but they use different and less expensive movements. Rolex dials do NOT work with any Tudor watches.

It is always a good idea to consult a watch repair professional before placing an order on our website. Any watchmaker will be able to tell you the exact model and movement number on your timepiece. Please be sure to have this information available before ordering from our store.
